Niagara Falls Investigation Leads to Arrest for Threats, Drugs and Gun Possession

On April 6, 2023, at 11:11pm 2 District – Niagara Falls uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a threats complaint in the City of Niagara Falls.

Officers attended a motel on Lundy’s Lane near Drummond Road.  The initial investigation determined that a man had come to the motel and tried to enter the property with a dog (Caine Corso).  When the man was told the dog was not welcome in the motel, he became upset and forced the dog to lunge at the victim while verbally threatening to have the dog attack and cause serious injury to the victim.  The male suspect left the property with dog in a black / grey Mazda prior to the arrival of officers.

On April 7, 2023, at 12:56am uniform patrol officers located the Mazda parked in the area of Victoria Avenue and Walnut Street.  The suspect and the dog were asleep inside.  The suspect was arrested for uttering a threat.  A search of the suspect following his arrest led to officers discovering and seizing the following:

Methamphetamine Fentanyl A loaded .45 revolver handgun $115 CDN currency

Kyle Thomas Adams (23 yrs.) of Welland has been arrested and charged with the criminal offences of:

Uttering Threats Possess Schedule I Substance for Trafficking – Opioid / Fentanyl Possess Schedule I Substance for Trafficking – Methamphetamine Possess Proceeds / Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence Possess a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle Possession of Firearm, Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

Adams was held in custody to appear at a video bail hearing to the John Sopinka Courthouse in Hamilton on April 7, 2023.
