NRPS Drug Investigation in St. Catharines Leads to Arrests and Seizures of Fentanyl and Cocaine

In the Spring of 2022, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) Street Crime Unit commenced a drug investigation into the activities occurring at Tasker Street home in the City of St. Catharines.  This investigation was initiated after the NRPS received public complaints alluding to the illegal sale of illicit drugs.  

On Wednesday June 1st, 2022, detectives from the 1 District Street Crime Unit assisted by officers from the 1 District CORE Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at the Tasker Street home. Investigators located and seized suspected Cocaine (13.8 grams), Fentanyl pills (1,123) and $2000. The drugs have a combined estimated street value of $45,880.00.

As a result of the investigation two adult males were arrested and charged.

Timothy Brian Nicholls (39 Years) of St. Catharines have been charged with the offences of:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl) – Sec. 5(2) CDSA Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) – Sec. 5(2) CDSA Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000 – Sec. 355(b) CC Fail to Comply with Probation Order – Sec. 733.1 (1) CC

Lance Edward Evans (56 Years) of St. Catharines has been charged with the offences of:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl) – Sec. 5(2) CDSA Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) – Sec. 5(2) CDSA Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000 – Sec. 355(b) CC

Both Nicholls and Evans were held in custody and attended a video bail hearing on June 2, 2022, at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
