On June 12, 2025, at 3:25 p.m., uniform officers from 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) office of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of gun shots fired in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Officers attended a residence on Queenston Street, on the east side of the Homer Bridge. Out of an abundance of caution, officers surrounded and contained the residence. Officers from the NRPS Emergency Task Unit, K9 Unit, and Crisis Negotiation Unit were called to the scene.
One person exited the residence and was arrested at 4:39 p.m.
No injuries have been reported.
There is no ongoing threat to public safety stemming from this incident. It is not believed to be a random act.
Roads in the area were reopened at approximately 5:15 p.m.
2 District detectives have been assigned to the active and ongoing investigation. Uniform officers remain on scene pending the execution of a search warrant.
An updated media release will be issued following further investigation, likely on the morning of June 13, 2025.
