Niagara police are investigating the death of 19-year old Oakville man at Ball’s Falls Conservation Area in Lincoln.
On July 7, police were called to Falls at 2:40 p.m. after receiving a report that a man had jumped and not resurfaced.
An extensive search was conducted by 8 District uniform officers, Grimsby detectives, the Niagara Regional Police Marine Unit and Emergency Task Unit.
The NRPS Marine Unit deployed a diver into the catch pool at the bottom of the Falls. The man was located and pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances of the incident are under investigation by Grimsby detectives with the Niagara Regional Police and the office of the coroner.
Investigators are working to determine who was with the victim at the time of the incident and are seeking information from anyone that witnessed him jump. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
