In June 2025, detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Street Crime Unit assigned to 3 District (Welland/Pelham) launched an investigation into the theft of two utility trailers from a local business in Welland.
One of the stolen trailers was recovered in St. Catharines by 3 District detectives. However, a second trailer remains outstanding. It is described as a 2022 Norstar dump trailer, black in colour, with the decal “Plaza Tenders” on both sides. Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating this trailer so it can be returned to its rightful owner.
As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant has been requested and issued for Jeremy BOYER, 35, for the following criminal offences:
Theft Over $5,000 Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited Fail to Comply with a Release Order Fail to Comply with Probation
BOYER is also currently wanted by the Niagara Regional Police Service on a separate warrant for a separate criminal matter.
Investigators believe BOYER is selling stolen utility trailers to unsuspecting buyers through Facebook Marketplace, using the alias “Jeremy Troy.” These trailers are being offered at prices significantly below market value.
Detectives remind members of the public to exercise caution when purchasing used trailers. Buyers should verify that the seller has valid registration and proof of ownership before completing any transaction.
Anyone who has recently purchased a trailer from BOYER, or who knows his whereabouts, is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Rick WEASNER at 905-688-4111, ext. 1009215.
Members of the public who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information leading to an arrest.
