The Niagara Regional Police Service reports that a uniform member assigned to its headquarters in Niagara Falls has tested positive for COVID-19.
NRPS is now working with the region’s public health team to ensure proper contact tracing is undertaken. The affected officer is self-isolating and is recovering at home.
“While this is the second positive case within the service, there is no evidence that the two cases are connected,” said a NRPS advisory.
This morning, Niagara Region Public Health reported seven new COVID-19 cases. There has been a total of 1,233 cases with 1,082 resolved cases in the region. There have been 66 deaths.
