Great ready for a possible nasty thunderstorm and high winds this afternoon.
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for all areas of the Niagara region.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and heavy rain,” the advisory said.
It said severe thunderstorms are possible after lunchtime with wind gusts to 90 kilometers per hour moving west to east through the region.
It advises: “Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.”
