Shot Fired During Grimsby Petro Canada Gas Station Robbery – UPDATE #3

The armed robbery investigation related to the Petro Canada Gas Station that occurred on August 1st, 2022, at 424 South Service Road, in the Town of Grimsby continues to be ongoing by Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to the 8 District Criminal Investigative Branch.

On August 19th, 2022, Marcus ROY (24 years) of Hamilton was located in the area of Barton Street and Centennial Parkway, in the City of Hamilton.  He was arrested by detectives assigned to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) joint forces Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) team.

ROY is currently in police custody and is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

                • Robbery (Firearm)

                • Disguise with Intent

                • Discharge Firearm with Intent to Wound, Endanger Life or Prevent Arrest

                • Possession of a Firearm, Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

                • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

ROY is being held for a bail hearing scheduled to take place on August 20th, 2022, via video link to the John Sopinka Courthouse, located at 45 Main Street East, in the City of Hamilton.

Detectives continue to appeal to members of the public for assistance identifying suspect #2 and suspect #3 outlined in the attached photo.
