On June 23, 2025, at approximately 8:55 p.m., uniformed officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service’s (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) were dispatched to a robbery in progress at a jewellery store located in the Pen Centre, 221 Glendale Avenue, St. Catharines.
Initial information indicated that four to five males entered the shopping mall via a west side entrance, armed with hammers and carrying bags. They ran to the nearest jewellery store and smashed the display cases. The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of jewellery and fled the shopping mall through the same west side doors they had entered.
The suspects then escaped in a black 2021 Honda Civic bearing Ontario licence plate DCPP 820, which had been reported stolen from another region on June 22, 2025.
Surveillance video from the store shows five males smashing the display cases. They are described as young males; three were dressed in black, one wore a red hoodie, and one was in a grey hoodie. All five wore face coverings or had their faces concealed by their hoods.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have taken cellphone video of the incident to contact them. They are also requesting that anyone who parked along the west side of the Pen Centre between 8:30 p.m. and 9:05 p.m. on June 23, 2025, check their dash cam footage for any images of the suspects entering or fleeing the mall.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service’s 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1008972.
