In September 2022, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) street crime detectives assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) commenced an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs throughout the City of St. Catharines.
On October 27th, 2022, detectives received judicial authorization to execute a search warrant on a recreational vehicle (RV), believed to be used to transport and sell illegal drugs throughout the City of St. Catharines. As a result of the investigation two individuals have been arrested. In total, detectives recovered 10.5 grams of suspected fentanyl, $11,420 of Canadian currency believed to have been acquired through the proceeds of crime and 4 computers reported stolen from a break and enter earlier this month.
Ricky ROWLEY (38 years) has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
• Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Irene WACH (58 years) has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
• Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Both ROWLEY and WACH were released from custody on a Form 10 Undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court on December 29th, 2022, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.
