On Friday March 31st, 2023, at 10:59pm Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) uniform patrol officers assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) were in the area of Byron Place and Shakespeare Avenue, in the City of St. Catharines when they observed a suspect wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.
The suspect was subsequently arrested on the strength of the arrest warrant. Search incident to arrest, officers located 128.4 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 259.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 216 suspected methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) pills. The combined estimated value of all seized drugs is $66,880.
Piotr Stefan ZAWADZKI (35 years) of St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
• Possession of methylenedioxymethamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
• Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
• Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
• Fail to comply with release order
ZAWADZKI was held in custody for a bail hearing that took place via video link to the John Sopinka Courthouse, located at 45 Main Street East, in the City of Hamilton. He has since been remanded into the custody of Ontario Corrections Services.
