Suspect Sought After Gas Bar Robbery – Niagara Falls

On January 2nd, 2023, at 9:12pm Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls / Niagara-on-the-Lake) responded to a gas bar kiosk located in the area of Lundy’s Lane and Carlton Avenue, in the City of Niagara Falls regarding an armed robbery that just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers determined the suspect approached a lone clerk who was situated inside a kiosk at the time.  The suspect brandished a black handgun and demanded the clerk surrender currency and cigarettes before fleeing the area on foot.  The clerk did not sustain any physical injuries.

Responding officers with the assistance of the NRPS Canine Unit quickly converged in the area, however the suspect was able to evade police.  It is believed the suspect ran south on Carlton Avenue toward the Barker Street area.

Detectives assigned to the 2 District Criminal Investigative Branch have assumed carriage of the investigation.  They are being supported by members of the Forensic Services Unit.  Area residents and businesses are encouraged to review their CCTV footage for any imagery that may assist in this investigation.

The suspect is described as follows:

–          Male

–          White

–          30 to 40 years

–          5’10” tall

–          200lbs

The suspect was last seen wearing:

–          Black bandana

–          Black leather coat

–          Grey hoody with the hood up

–          Black gloves
