Suspect Sought After Search Warrant in St. Catharines Results in Recovery of Handgun

In May 2023, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Street Crime detectives assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) received information that Luke Mark PERRON was in possession of a firearm and immediately commenced a firearms investigation.

On May 17th, 2023, detectives received judicial authorization to execute a search warrant at a residential address located in the area of Terrace Hill Road and Westchester Crescent, in the City of St. Catharines.  Given the involvement of a firearm, detectives requested the assistance of the NRPS Emergency Task Unit during the execution of the search warrant.

A Smith & Wesson 554 revolver was located in PERRON’S bedroom alongside six 45 calibre rounds and one round of 9mm ammunition.  PERRON was not inside the residence when the warrant was executed.  A warrant for his arrest has been issued.  Detectives have reason to believe PERRON knows he is wanted and is undertaking steps to avoid arrest.

Luke Mark PERRON (39 years) of St. Catharines is currently WANTED for the following Criminal Code offences:

• Possession of a Firearm, Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

• Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowing Not Holding a Licence

• Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence

• Careless Storage of a Firearm
