Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) have made an arrest in connection with a fire investigation in Thorold.
On June 19, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., Thorold Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of a house fire on Devine Crescent in the City of Thorold. Initial reports indicated that all occupants had exited the residence and that one person was being treated for burn injuries. The circumstances led detectives to believe the fire was suspicious in nature.
On June 20, 2025, detectives arrested the property owner, Navdeep Singh, 29, and charged him with one count of arson – damage to property, contrary to Section 434 of the Criminal Code of Canada. Singh was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
