Niagara Falls, ON – Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Sexual Assault Unit (SAU) would like to thank members of the public for their swift assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a sexual assault.
On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a youth male victim was groped by an unknown male while shopping with his mother inside a store located in the Town and Country Plaza on Portage Road (between Colborne Street and Huggins Street) in Niagara Falls.
As a result of tips received from the public, detectives identified the suspect as Bertan ISIK (26 years) of Niagara Falls. On August 28, 2025, ISIK was arrested in the area of the offence.
ISIK is charged with one count of Sexual Assault
ISIK remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.

Niagara Falls, ON – Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Sexual Assault Unit (SAU) are asking the for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect following a sexual assault.
On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a youth male victim was shopping with his mother inside a store located in the Town and Country Plaza on Portage Road (between Colborne Street and Huggins Street) when he was assaulted.
The victim was groped by an unknown adult male who then fled the store on foot. He was last seen running northbound through the plaza.
The male is being described as follows.
Olive complexion 25-35 years old Medium build Black hair Thick black beard White ball cap Grey t-shirt White and black plaid jacket Red track pants with a single white stripe on the side Tan running shoes Camouflage backpack
Detectives are asking for anyone who recognizes the suspect or who may have information regarding this incident to contact the Sexual Assault Unit at 905-688-4111, extension 1009311.
