Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Street Crime Unit (SCU) have been actively investigating a break and enter that occurred at a business in the City of St. Catharines on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
As a result of the investigation, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, members of the 1 District Community Oriented Response and Engagement (CORE) Unit and SCU detectives located and charged wanted person Pavel BRAOUN, (35 years) of St. Catharines with the following offences:
Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order Fail to Comply with Probation Break and Enter – Non-Dwelling Break and Enter and Steal a Firearm Possession of a Weapon Possession of a Firearm without a License Possession of a Restricted Firearm without a License Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
BRAOUN remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Wednesday, September 3, 2025, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
