On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at approximately 2:00 pm , the Niagara Regional Police responded to the area of 32 Idlewylde Street in the Town of Fort Erie for a report of found human remains.
The remains have positively been identified as those of Desmond Teague who was reported missing on September 30, 2022.
The investigation into this matter is now being classified as a homicide and remains ongoing.
The Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit is appealing to anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Desmond Teague or suspicious activity in the area of Idlewylde Street to contact Detectives at ( 905) 688 – 4111 , dial option 3, ext. 1009132
UPDATE 1 – MISSING PERSON – 74 Year Old Male Missing From Fort Erie
The Niagara Regional Police Service continue to search for missing 74-year-old Desmond TEAGUE of the City of Fort Erie.
Desmond TEAGUE was reported missing on September 30, 2022 and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
This investigation remains an open missing person investigation with suspicious circumstances. The Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit has assumed control of the investigation and investigators are appealing to anyone with information regarding Desmond TEAGUE’s disappearance or whereabouts to contact detectives at (905) 688 – 4111 , dial option 3, extension 1009132 .
Members of the public who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to persons who contact the program with information that leads to an arrest.

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is currently conducting a missing person investigation stemming from the Town of Fort Erie.
Detectives assigned to 5 District are searching for Desmond TEAGUE (74 years) of age. He was last seen in the area of Forsythe Street and Archange Street, in the Town of Fort Erie on September 28th, 2022, at 7:00am.
Desmond is described as follows:
– Male
– White
– 5’7” tall
– 150lbs
– Grey/brown hair (short)
Desmond is believed to be wearing blue jeans.
Both the police and Desmond’s family are concerned for his welfare.
5 District (NRPS) officers are asking the public for assistance. Anyone who may have information as to the whereabouts of Desmond is being asked to contact the NRPS Communications Unit at 905-688-4111.
