UPDATE – ARREST – 1 Male Arrested and 1 Male Wanted in Relation to Robbery in Niagara Falls

As a result of an on-going investigation, 2 District (Niagara Falls) detectives were able to locate the second male suspect.

On Wednesday July 13, 2022, 33 year old Murray Nimmo was arrested and charged with the following offence:

–        Robbery, Contrary to Section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

–        Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Contrary to Section 733.1 of the Criminal Code

Nimmo was held in custody prior to a bail hearing on Thursday July 14, 2022, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.

ORIGINAL RELEASE – March 9, 2022

On Tuesday, March 8th, 2022 at 3:31pm, 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers attended Victoria & Maple Variety Store located at 4623 Victoria Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls in response to a robbery call for service.

Investigation revealed that two males entered the store and were attempting to steal various items. A female employee confronted them which resulted in the males becoming aggressive and assaulting her.

The males left the store prior to police arrival and were last seen walking southbound on Victoria Avenue.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify the two males.

Shawn Butler (26 years old) of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:

Robbery Fail to comply with probation

Butler was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Murray Nimmo (33 years old) of Niagara Fall is still outstanding and wanted for the following charges of:

Robbery Fail to comply with probation

He is described as:

White male 6’ 190lbs Medium build Brown hair Hazel eyes
