Welland Man Charged Following Online Child Exploitation Investigation

In April of 2022, members of the Bromont Police Service in the Province of Quebec, began an investigation into the luring of a child under the age of 16. The investigation led to the identification of a suspect within the Niagara Region. Members of the Niagara Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit took carriage of the investigation.

On August 17, 2023, Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police ICE Unit along with the Technological Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the City of Welland. As a result of this investigation, several devices used in the commission of an offence were seized and Cameron Gregory Micheal DAVIDSON (42-years) of Welland was arrested and is now facing the following Criminal Code charge:

Luring a Child via telecommunication to commit the offence of Making Child Pornography

DAVIDSON was held in custody after his arrest and is set to appear for a bail hearing on August 17th, 2023, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St Catharines.

The Niagara Regional Police Service is a member of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet and conducts investigations into Internet Child Exploitation Offences in partnership with Ontario Police Services and International Partners. This investigative initiative has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
