Second person tests positive for COVID-19 at Welland school

A second person at Quaker Road Public School in Welland has tested positive for COVID-19 following a case detected on Sunday.

The District School Board of Niagara said students and staff at the school, located at 333 Quaker Rd. in Welland, who had close contact with the infected individual have been contacted and told by Niagara Regional Public Health to stay home and self-isolate.

The board said custodians will complete a cleaning of the school. A Public Health Inspector and a Public Health Nurse from NRPH have visited the school to complete an assessment.
