fentanyl $100K of fentanyl was seized from a Stoney Creek man by Halton police

Halton police has seized 300 grams of fentanyl with a street value of $100,000 from a Stoney Creek man during a traffic stop.

A Halton officer pulled over a car speeding in the area of Billing Court and South Service Road in Burlington Sunday evening at 7 p.m. During the traffic stop, the officer conducted a search of the vehicle and found $100,000 worth of fentanyl, as well as $15,000 dollars in cash.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that is a similar drug to morphine, but is 50 to 100 times more potent.

Parteek Ghuman, 19, of Stoney Creek was taken into custody and is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and obstructing a peace officer.  He is currently awaiting a bail hearing.
