Detectives Investigating ATV Rollover in Niagara on the Lake

On March 13, 2022, at approximately 12:35AM, 2 District – Niagara Falls uniform officers responded to a report of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rollover in Niagara on the Lake.

Officers arrived on scene in the area of Garrison Village Drive and Village Road with additional emergency personnel.  A lone male was located pinned under an ATV in critical condition.  The male was wearing a helmet but was suffering from life threatening injuries.  Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics and personnel from Niagara on the Lake Fire and Emergency Services treated the male at the scene and transported him to a local hospital.  He was later flown to an out of region hospital for further care. The injured male has been identified as a 16-year-old from St. Catharines.

Detectives from the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit (RECON) have been assigned to the investigation.  They are being assisted by Forensic Services detectives.

The ATV involved is a yellow Suzuki King Quad 700.  The ATV sustained considerable damage from the incident.

Roads in the area were reopened at approximately 6:30AM.

Anyone (residents or businesses) in the area with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for the yellow ATV or any footage that may assist in the investigation.  Those with possible footage are asked to review recorded activity for the period between 11:30PM (March 12, 2022) and 12:35AM on March 13, 2022.
