Drug Investigation Results in Seizure of Drugs, Loaded Firearm and $92,000 in Proceeds

On June 18th, 2024, members of the 1 District Street Crime Unit concluded an investigation into drug trafficking in the Region of Niagara.

As a result, the accused was arrested and search warrants were executed at a residence and vehicle in the area of Glenridge Avenue and Glen Morris Drive.

Detectives seized a significant quantity of schedule I substances including cocaine, hydromorphone, and fentanyl and over $92,000 in Canadian currency as well as a loaded 45 caliber semi-automatic handgun and brass knuckles.

Mohamed MOJAHID (20 years old) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Careless Storage of a Firearm Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Cocaine) for the Purpose of Trafficking Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Hydromorphone) for the Purpose of Trafficking Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl) for the Purpose of Trafficking Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 Resist Arrest

MOJAHID was held in custody pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on June 19, 2024, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.
