Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) have continued to investigate the fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, which took place on November 20, 2025, on Thorold Stone Road near Carrol Avenue in Niagara Falls.
As a result of their investigation, on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, CRU detectives charged the driver of the motor vehicle in this incident, a 68-year-old female from Niagara Falls, with one count of Careless Driving Causing Death contrary to section 130(3) of the Highway Traffic Act. The driver has been released and set to appear in provincial offences court on a future date.

ORIGINAL Media Release: Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision with Pedestrian – Niagara Falls
On Thursday, November 20, 2025, at approximately 8:20 am, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers were dispatched to the area of Thorold Stone Road near Carroll Avenue for a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian.
Upon arriving on the scene, an injured male was located and transported to a local hospital by Niagara Emergency Medical Services (NEMS). Sadly, the male was subsequently pronounced deceased.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) has taken carriage of the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact detectives at (905) 688-4111, option 3, extension 1009569.
