Detectives Investigating Welland Ave. Gas Station Robbery – St. Catharines

On December 28, 2022, at approximately 6:44AM, 1 District – St. Catharines uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of a robbery in St. Catharines.

Officers arrived on scene at the Canadian Tire Gas station located on Welland Avenue near Neilson Avenue.   The initial investigation determined that a lone male suspect had entered the store area and demanded money.  A knife was threatened but not shown.  The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money and ran from the area.  The employee was not injured. Officers attended the area and were not able to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as:

White male, 40-45 years 5’3″, medium build Black and grey scruffy/unshaven face Dark blue winter jacket Black touque Light coloured pants White shoes

The investigation has been assigned to detectives from the 1 District detective office who are being assisted by the NRPS Forensic Services Unit.
