Detectives Seeking Witnesses to Downtown St. Catharines Assaults

On Saturday May 1, 2022, shortly after 1:00am 1 District St. Catharines uniform officers form the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a report of an assault in downtown St. Catharines.

Officers arrived on scene in the area of St. Paul Street and William Street.  Officers located two men (34 years and 46 years) suffering from nonlife threatening injuries. The victims were transported to a local hospital.  The initial investigation has determined that the victims were assaulted on the street during a large fight.

The 1 District Detective Office is currently investigating the assaults.  Detectives are requesting any witnesses or individuals with cell phone footage of the incident come forward to assist in identifying the persons responsible.
