The province-wide lockdown has prompted the Town of Grimsby to require users of its outdoor ice rink to book via a reservation system.

Grimsby residents can now book time slots to use the town’s outdoor rink, known as the Frieze Box, starting on Jan. 4. Only members of a person’s immediate household only can skate with a reservation holder. Only six skaters are permitted per session.

The 45-minute skate times are free. Hockey sticks and pucks are permitted to use during rentals.

Town staff will be on the premises to facilitate the rental schedule. Reservations will be on a first come first serve basis and households are asked to limit bookings to once a week to ensure equal access for all residents.

To book an appointment, you can create an online account, view ice availability and call 905-945-1288 (Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30) to secure your spot.
