Male Arrested in Relation to Vehicle Theft in West Lincoln

On February 7, 2022, at approximately 8:30am, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) officers attended the area of Old Thorold Stone Road and Davis Road, in Thorold for a vehicle theft.

Investigation revealed that a yellow Caterpillar Skid Steer valued in excess of $70,000, was stolen from a new home construction site in the area of Summersides Boulevard and Lemetti Drive in Fonthill. The incident occurred between 10:50pm on February 4, 2022 and 10:00am on Saturday, February 5, 2022.

Investigation on the same date led Grimsby Detachment officers to an address in Saint Ann’s West Lincoln where the stolen skid steer was located, seized and returned to the owner.

Michael Sider (38 years old) of West Lincoln was arrested and charged with the following offence of:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

Sider was released from custody pending a scheduled court date.

Detectives are seeking any information related to the theft and are asking anyone with video surveillance footage in the area, to review their video footage and observe if they may have captured the yellow Caterpillar Skid Steer on a trailer attached to a suspect vehicle.
