McMaster employee tests positive for COVID-19

McMaster University A McMaster University student who was on campus last week has tested positive for COVID-19.

An employee of McMaster University has tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee, whose name is not being released, was last on campus on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Areas where the employee was while on campus have been thoroughly cleaned.

The employee notified the university on Saturday and has been helpful in sharing information needed for McMaster to respond effectively.

Contact tracing by public health authorities is being used to identify those who may have come in contact with the individual or in the areas in which the employee visited while on campus.

Students, faculty or staff must complete a COVID screen tool within one hour of arrival on campus. Additionally, all employees and students attending campus must complete a mandatory online module found on McMaster’s Mosaic portal.

McMaster administration is asked anyone who was on campus last week and who has tested positive for COVID-19 to contact the university.
