Niagara Catholic has been advised of three cases of COVID-19, affecting two Catholic elementary schools.
In one case, an individual tested positive at St. Charles Catholic Elementary School in Thorold. That case has affected two classrooms at the school.
In the other, two individuals tested positive at Loretto Catholic Elementary School in Niagara Falls. The cases at Loretto Catholic are not related to the case announced on March 10. Two classes at Loretto Catholic will also switch to virtual learning for the next two weeks.
As a result, students and staff at these schools were exposed to COVID-19 while the individuals were infectious.
The individuals are currently in self-isolation. The principals of Loretto Catholic and St. Charles Elementary Schools have sent letters to all students and staff to notify them.
Affected individuals have received a letter from Niagara Region Public Health through the school.
