NRPS Investigating Stabbing on McAlpine Ave. in Welland – SUSPECT WANTED

On December 6, 2022, at 10:55PM 3 District – Welland uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of a stabbing in Welland.

Officers responded to a residence in the area of McAlpine Avenue South and Hagar Street along with Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics.  A male victim in his 20s was located suffering from serious stab wounds.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent further treatment for what was believed to be life threatening injuries.

The initial investigation determined that a male suspect had arrived in a vehicle and entered the basement of the home.  The suspect and the victim became involved in an argument that escalated to violence and the stabbing.  The suspect left the scene prior to officers’ arrival in a vehicle.

3 District detectives were assigned to the investigation and assisted by the NRPS Forensic Services Unit.   Officers were able locate the vehicle and identify a suspect.

Paul Rodney Junior Witter (24 yrs.) of Toronto is wanted for the Criminal Code offences of:

Aggravated Assault Weapons Dangerous Fail to Comply with a Release Order (3 Counts)

Witter’s current location is unknown.  His current method of transportation is unknown.  Witter has ties to Toronto.

Witter is described as:

Black male 6’ ft. tall Approximately 165 lbs. slender build Black short, braided hair Brown eyes Goatee / moustache Brown eyes Scar – near left eye

The suspect has in the past used the alias’ “Jordan Holbert”, “Jordan Stackz” or “Junior Whitter”.

Members of the public who may see him or know his location are asked not to confront him and call their local police.
