Ontario is reporting 538 new COVID-19 cases today, a decrease from yesterday’s 625 cases and the 554 new cases reported on Tuesday.

Niagara Region reports nine new cases of COVID-19, the same as yesterday. The numbers continue to remain below ten since the double-digits numbers reported on Monday and over the weekend.

“Ontario is reporting 538 cases of #COVID19 as more than 39,600 tests were completed. Locally, there are 229 new cases in Toronto with 101 in Peel, 66 in Ottawa and 43 in York Region. 60% of today’s cases are in people under the age of 40. There are 515 more resolved cases today,” said Health Minister Christine Elliott on Twitter this morning.

There were three new deaths reported today in Ontario. There were no new deaths reported in the Niagara Region.

Ontario now has 52,248 confirmed cases, with 44,422 of those cases resolved. There have been 2851 deaths. There are 162 cases in hospitals, with 36 in intensive care and 17 people on ventilators.

The total number of confirmed cases in Niagara is currently at 1,082, with 919 resolved. Of those cases, there are 99 active cases and six active outbreaks. There have been 64 deaths.
