Sledding boy killed by truck in Lincoln

A snowsledding boy who was struck by a truck in Lincoln yesterday has died.

Niagara police responded to a call Monday around 4:15pm 8 District to deal with a serious collision. 

Grimsby-based officers arrived on the scene in the area of Greenlane Road and Bartlett Street in Lincoln. A 4-year-old boy was found in critical condition after being struck by a truck. “The boy had been injured after the snow sled he was riding entered the roadway and he was struck by a passing pickup truck,” said a police news bulletin.

The boy was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.

Greenlane Road was closed so that detectives from the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Forensic Services Unit could conduct an investigation. 

The identity of the child is not being released.
