St. Catharines Man Cameron Kirkness Arrested for Sexual Assault

In late September of 2022, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District – St. Catharines / Thorold uniform officers attended an address in St. Catharines regarding a report of a sexual assault.

The female victim in her 50s was treated at a local hospital for her injuries.  The victim and suspect were acquaintances.

As a result of the initial investigation detectives from the NRPS Sexual Assault Unit were assigned. Their investigation led them to form grounds for the arrest of the suspect.

On October 6, 2022, the suspect was located and arrested in St. Catharines. 

Cameron Allan Kirkness (46 years) of St. Catharines has been charged with the criminal offences of:

Sexual Assault Assault

Kirkness is being held in custody for a video bail hearing to be held October 7, 2022, at the Robert S. K. Welch courthouse in St. Catharines.
