On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Peel Regional Police responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the area of 1875 North Sheridan Way in Mississauga.
With support from Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Homicide Detectives and Forensic Services Detectives, investigators have confirmed that the vehicle, a stolen grey Honda CRV, was registered to Mr. Pearce and previously known to have been operated by wanted individual Davy Rocchetti.
Further investigation revealed that the vehicle entered the green space off Springbank Road at approximately 8:20 p.m., before being intentionally set on fire. A lone individual was seen walking away from the area shortly thereafter.
Davy Rocchetti’s whereabouts remain unknown, and efforts are ongoing to locate him under the authority of a Canada-wide warrant. At this time, investigators do not believe he is still in possession of the dog; however, that may change as the investigation continues.
Investigators are appealing to residents in the area of North Sheridan Way, Springbank Road, and Sevenoaks Drive in Mississauga who may have seen or heard anything suspicious between 8:10 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. on July 24, or who may have relevant surveillance or dashcam footage, to contact police.

UPDATE 4 – Wednesday July 23, 2025
Through the ongoing efforts of detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Homicide Unit, 50-year-old Davy Rocchetti is now wanted for second degree murder in connection with the death of 82-year-old Larry Pearce.
Detectives are in the process of obtaining a Canada-wide warrant for Mr. Rocchetti’s arrest.
In addition to this homicide-related charge, Mr. Rocchetti is currently wanted on outstanding warrants for unrelated matters, including mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000, three counts of operation while prohibited, and failing to comply with probation.
Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding Mr. Rocchetti’s whereabouts to contact police immediately. If seen, do not approach him—call 911.
Investigators believe that as recently as Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at approximately 10:00 am, Mr. Rocchetti is still operating the victim’s stolen 2012 grey Honda CRV. At that time, Mr. Rocchetti was in the area of the 1900 block of Dundas St. W., in Mississauga. Police have confirmed that he continues to also be in the company of his dog, described as a Pitbull-style breed with white fur and black and brown markings that include a dark spot over the dogs left eye.
Investigators would like to update the following details about the outstanding Honda CRV. The vehicle no longer had a front licence plate displayed and the rear licence plate which originally bore Ontario Marker ‘24FS30’ may also have been changed.
Further, the vehicle is distinctive, with duct tape on the driver’s side front bumper and duct tape covering the entirety of the rear back window.

UPDATE 3 – Sunday July 20, 2025
As a result of assistance from members of the public in response to the earlier media release today asking to identify a potential witness observed at Charles Daley Park on the morning of the incident, detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Homicide Unit have been able to confirm the identity of the male to be Davy Rocchetti, of no fixed address.
Davy Rocchetti has outstanding warrants in the first instances for an unrelated matter, including Mischief Under $5,000, Theft Under $5,000, three counts of Operation While Prohibited, and Fail to Comply with Probation, detectives are asking anyone with information regarding Mr. Rocchetti’s whereabouts to contact police. If he is seen, do not approach him; call 911 immediately.
Homicide investigators still wish to speak with Mr. Rocchetti about any information he may have in relation to the ongoing homicide investigation of 82-year-old Larry Pearce. Mr. Rocchetti is encouraged to contact legal counsel and turn himself into the NRPS to address his outstanding warrants.
In addition, police continue to appeal to anyone who was at Charles Daley Park on the morning of Thursday, July 17, 2025, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., to contact investigators.
The vehicle involved in this incident, belonging to the victim, a 2012 Honda CRV, grey in colour Ontario licence plate 24FS30, remains outstanding. It has become known to investigators that the vehicle is equipped with two roof racks at the time it was taken. Detectives are actively working to locate it as part of the ongoing investigation.

UPDATE 2 – Saturday July 20, 2025
As part of the ongoing investigation by detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Homicide Unit, police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who was seen at Charles Daley Park on the morning of the incident.
The male is described as White, with a darker complexion, believed to be between his late 30s and early 60s. He was wearing a blue checkered or plaid shirt and was accompanied by a Pitbull-style dog, white with black and brown markings, on a green leash.
Detectives are looking to identify and speak with this individual as part of the investigation.
Police are also appealing to anyone who was at Charles Daley Park on Thursday morning, July 17, 2025, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., to contact investigators.

UPDATE 1 – Friday July 19, 2025
On Friday, July 18, 2025, 82-year-old Larry Pearce of St. Catharines succumbed to injuries in hospital.
As a result, detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Homicide Unit have assumed carriage of the investigation.
Through further investigation, detectives have determined that Mr. Pearce arrived alone at Charles Daley Park in his vehicle at approximately 9:00 a.m. and remained at the Park until approximately 9:40 a.m. At that time he was believed to be exiting the park in his vehicle when, near the front entrance, he stopped and engaged in an interaction with unknown suspect(s).
During this encounter, the victim exited his vehicle, at which point the suspect(s) entered and took control of it. Mr. Pearce stood in front of the vehicle in an attempt to prevent the suspect(s) from fleeing. During this confrontation, he fell to the ground, and the suspect(s) fled the area in his vehicle.
The vehicle was last seen entering the QEW Niagara-bound from Seventh Street at approximately 9:44 a.m. and remains outstanding.
Detectives are appealing to members of the public for assistance in locating the victim’s vehicle and gathering information that may aid in the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam, cellphone, or surveillance footage recorded between 9:35 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on the date of the incident is urged to come forward.
Police are also looking to speak with anyone who attended the park Thursday morning between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

ORIGINAL RELEASE – Police Investigating Incident at Charles Daley Park in Lincoln
On Thursday, July 17, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m. uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) assigned to 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) responded to Charles Daley Park located at 1955 North Service Road in the Town of Lincoln for a hit and run motor vehicle accident.
The initial investigation revealed that a collision occurred between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the parking lot of the park. The unknown driver and vehicle left the area without stopping. The vehicle was last seen driving eastbound on North Service Road.
The pedestrian that was struck was transported to an out-of-region hospital in critical condition. The pedestrian’s vehicle, a 2012 Silver Honda CRV with Ontario license plate 24FS30, is unaccounted for.
Detectives assigned to the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit have assumed carriage of the motor vehicle collision investigation. Detectives assigned to the NRPS 8 District Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have assumed carriage of the outstanding vehicle investigation. Both investigative teams are working collaboratively and are receiving support from detectives with the NRPS Forensic Services Unit (FSU).
Detectives are seeking witnesses and any available video footage related to the incident. Members of the community are asked to review any dashcam, cell phone, or surveillance footage recorded between 9:00 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. and to contact investigators if anything relevant is captured.
