West Niagara communities are starting to reopen additional public facilities in Week 3 of Stage 3 of Ontario’s COVID-19 reopening plan.

Lincoln and Grimsby have announced the following changes to their town services. West Lincoln town staff, reached by the Niagara Info, says its town facilities reopening schedule has yet to be fully confirmed. But an initial bulletin below was announced this week.

Lincoln

Lincoln public facilities are re-opening with reduced capacity. These services will be accessed through pre-registrations or appointment only.

Town Hall – Aug. 10

  • Hours of operation: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • The lobby and payment counters in the Finance Department are open to the public.
  • Meeting spaces booked according to need and under department discretion.
  • Services can be accessed online (https://lincoln.ca/coronavirus-pandemic/online-phone-services) or call 905-564-2799 ext. 319 to book an appointment.

Fleming Centre – Aug. 10

  • Hours of operation:
    • Monday- Friday: 10 am to 8:30 pm
    • Saturday: 10 am to 5 pm
  • Walk tracks and dry arena surface open for use.
  • Registration available online starting August 4 or by phone 905-563-2799 ex. 319.

Lincoln Libraries – Aug. 10

  • Hours of Operation at the Fleming Branch (Beamsville) and Moses F. Rittenhouse Branch (Vineland):
    • Tuesday-Thursday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Register by calling the Fleming Branch at 905-563-7014 or the Moses F. Rittenhouse Branch at 905-562-5711.

  • During the month August these acitivties will start up again:
    • Pickleball (Maximum of 4 people. Masks must be worn in facility but are not required during play).
    • Euchre (Maximum of 12 people in the craft/activity room. Mask must be worn during play).
    • Billiards (Maximum of 4 people – 2 per table. Masks and gloves must be worn during play)
    • Common spaces (subject to occupancy restrictions)

Grimsby:

Township Municipal Office – Aug. 17

West Lincoln city officials have announced that many township facilities and services will re-open on Aug. 17 by appointment only. Appointments can be made at the Township Municipal Office in person or virtually, Monday through Friday from the 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

These businesses include:

  • Building permit application, inspections, and by-law complaints
  • Lottery Licenses
  • Commissioning of documents and affidavits
  • Zoning inquiries
  • Sign By-law, Fence Bylaw, & site alteration applications
  • Policy planning inquires
  • Development application
  • Consent and minor variance applications
  • Community improvement plans & incentives
  • Recycling bins for new homeowners who qualify
  • Water test bottle available for pick-up
