West Niagara can expect more snow this week with flurries this weekend

West Niagara got its first true taste of winter Tuesday with the first significant snowfall of the season, but don’t put the shovel away yet there’s more coming.

Grimsby, Lincoln, West Lincoln, and Pelham received 1-3 cm of snow so far and Wainfleet received 5 cm, with more to come overnight.

Throughout the evening and overnight, West Niagara communities are expected to get an additional 1-3 cm, with some flurries on Wednesday morning. However, precipitation is forecasted to clear up Wednesday afternoon and evening and residents are expected to see mainly clear skies.

Flurries and rain are expected to return this weekend as shoppers head out for Christmas shopping. Only four weekends left before Chirstmas.

Grimsby forecast to the weekend

In Grimsby residents can expect a mix of rain and flurries on Friday, with less than 1 cm of snow and 1 mm of rain. On Saturday, as the Grimsby Reverse Santa Claus parade prepares it’s eight displays, there is a chance of flurries in the morning beforehand, with a mix of sun and clouds for the remainder of the day giving Santa, who will hang out under the downtown Grimsby arch a break. Then there will be a chance of showers on Sunday.

Lincoln weather forecast to the weekend

Lincoln residents can expect a mix of rain and snow on Friday, with less than 1 cm of snow and 1 mm rain. On Saturday there is a chance of flurries in the morning, with a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day. On Sunday, there will be a chance of flurries or showers.

West Lincoln and Pelham forecast to the weekend

In West Lincoln and Pelham, a mix of wet snow and flurries is expected Friday, with less than 1 cm of snow and 1 mm of rain. Saturday will be a mix of sun and cloud and Sunday it will be cloudy with a chance of flurries and showers.

Wainfleet weather forecast to the weekend

Wainfleet will be receiving more precipitation than other West Niagara communities, with light rain and wet flurries on Friday, with 2-4 millimetres of rain and less than 1 cm of snow. On Saturday, a mix of sun and clouds is expected and Sunday will be cloudy with showers, with 1-3 millimetres expected.
