Friday, Sept. 11

Fri-YAY trivia night at Station 1 Coffeehouse

Trivia Night at Station 1 Coffeehouse in Grimsby runs every Friday, weather permitting. Groups of 6 required. Adults only. To reserve a table on the Southern Comfort Patio at the back of the building call the cafe at 905-309-4000 or drop by to book in person. For more info click here.

Smithville blood donor clinic

Urgent need for blood donation. Each donation saves three lives. Strict Covid-19 safety guidelines are in place to ensure all who participate are safe. Donors must wear a mask. Blood donation takes approximately 1 hour, though the actual blood donation portion of the appointment takes only about 10-15 minutes. Stargazing and four course dinner at Calamus winery

Royal Astronomical Society of Canada will be taking over the Calamus telescope and providing guests with a once in a lifetime experience to stargaze. The even also features a gourmet four course dinner menu. The dinner features grilled pear salad, sundried tomato ravioli, blackened chicken with red skin potato mash and Niagara seasonal veg and a Niagara peach tart. More information here.

Corn roast and chili dinner at Silverdale Community Hall

Silverdale Community Hall in Grimsby will host a chili, soup, and corn roast to raise money for teen drop-in and support center FORT in Smithville. Coffee, tea, cold drinks and homemade bars and cookies will also be available. Tax receipt for donations over $25. Event time and location here.

Saturday, Sept. 12

Hike, yoga, and wine expedition at Locust Lane Winery

Take a hike on a section of the Bruce Trail in the Beamsville Bench area (approx. 1.5-2 hrs). The hike ends at Beamsville’s newest winery, Locust Lane Estate Winery. A relaxing yoga session on the grass near the vineyards follows the hike. Then there will be a tasting of four wines. More information here.

Sunday, Sept. 13

Fall yoga at Back 10 Cellars

Yoga, wine, and a light snack at Back 10 Cellars Vineyard. This event is weather permitting. The yoga will be held in a sheltered area. There will be a short tasting after the class. Dress for weather and bring a mat and water. Social distancing protocols are in place. Fall Workshops at the Watering Can

Attend a fall workshop at the Watering Can. Attendees can plant an immense container for the Autumn season. The impressive planter is brimming with a combination of colourful garden mums, heather, zebra plant, ornamental grass, plus a host of decor, will be used. It is suitable for an outdoor setting.
