Lincoln County Humane Society: Bindi

Breed: Brown, Domestic Short-Hair: 6 years old, Female.

Doesn’t this round face just scream “smooch me”? Unfortunately, Bindi is terrified of people and shies away from being touched. She was found as a stray and was really scared and timid at the shelter so they moved her into a foster home, hoping that would help her come out of her shell.

In foster care, Bindi is just as shy and although her foster mom really wants to love her, Bindi won’t let her. Get too close and she’s bound to hiss and swat. These behaviors mean that a cat is scared or feels threatened.

Bindi needs a special adopter who can understand her fear and give her LOTS of time and space to learn to trust her new person. Bindi would do best in a quiet and calm home with no kids and no other pets. Although it’s suspected having a laid back cat friend could help her learn to “cat”.

Bindi really needs a human who is as special as she is to see beyond her fear and defences to the special girl underneath and give her all that she needs to live a happy and comfortable life. Someone with some experience with “difficult” cats would be ideal. The humane society is happy to guide adopters to appropriate resources and techniques to help continue Bindi’s socialization.

Bindi is currently making use of a Feliway diffuser and spray and we would recommend that her adopter continue using these products. Bindi would also benefit from a natural supplement product that is used to help cats feel calm. The cost of these products per month would be about $50 and would not likely be forever, but until she has transitioned to her new home and is starting to feel more secure. Bindi is otherwise healthy.

If you think you might be the right match for Bindi, please get in touch with our foster coordinator by emailing [email protected].

Zoey: Bulldog approximately two years old, or younger.

Did you know that Zoey is still looking for a forever home?

Zoey is a sweet girl, all about being with her person and playing. She does lack some manners and will need to be trained so she will understand what is expected of her. Her perfect home has a fenced yard, no other animals in the home, are committed to training and are active people. With some structure and guidance, this girl is going to be a great addition to a home that loves to include their dog in day to day activities!

Zoey has been with LCHS for a while and is ready to go to her forever home. Please consider adopting this beautiful girl!
