Grimsby loses yet another business with For Gents Only closing

Another business is leaving Grimsby. And it’s another hairstylist. Only a few weeks after West End Hair Studio announced its closure, For Gents Only barber shop is shutting its doors too.

Barber Roger Gaudreau of Darryl Allen Salon in Grimsby gives six-year old Carter Walker a Junior Gentleman’s Haircut.

The gentleman’s salon, run by owner Megan Price, has been in operation for more than 20 years. During that time, it’s been one of the town’s most well-known male grooming establishments.

For Gents Only is not closing due to COVID-19 like so many other businesses downtown Grimsby, including The Happy Baby, Found, and Crockadoodle. Price said she is retiring.

Men in Grimsby will soon need to go elsewhere for a trim, gentleman’s cut, and warm service. The good news is, there is a hidden gem around the corner. Barber shop Darryl Allen Salon, located at 41 Main Street Rear Unit, is still open. Niagara Info recently sent its Editor and his son for a cut there with Roger Gaudreau. He and the other stylists will be able to keep the men of Grimsby looking slick along with other hairstylists at the many unisex salons in the area.
