Ontario reported 3,270 today and 8,803 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend. There were 100 new cases today and 244 over the weekend in the Niagara Region.
It looks like the beginning of 2020 with be welcomed with freezing rain, with 10-15 mm of rain headed for West Niagara on Friday.
Niagara Region has seen two spikes in its COVID-19 death toll in recent days and the people who are dying are residents of retirement and long care facilities, said the region’s acting medical officer.
