On September 12, 2022, at approximately 2:45pm, 1 District St. Catharines / Thorold uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of an armed person in Thorold.
Officers attended The Lofts on Schmon Parkway, building six. Out of an abundance of safety the building was placed in lock down. Members of the NRPS Emergency Task Unit attended the scene. No gun was located. Officers were able to determine that a report of a man with a long gun was unfounded.
This incident is not related to the shooting incidents in Peel and Halton.
